Nominations for the 2024 SKLA Awards are now closed. Thank you to all who applied, and thank you to our judges for their time.
Winners will be announced at our third annual Conference Awards Luncheon on October 10 at the Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre. This award recognizes a property manager nominated by their employer as someone who is professional, engaged, and demonstrates excellence in everything they do.
Nominees must be currently employed with the company in order to be eligible.
The nominees are: Amberlynn Jacques (Deveraux), Toufiq Anam (Avenue), Ishika Shukla (Weidner), Gladys Fehr (Colliers), and Era Shtino (Mainstreet).
This award recognizes an employee nominated by their employer as someone who is professional, engaged, and demonstrates excellence in everything they do.
The nominee must be currently employed in a role related to rental operations, marketing, human resources, administration, and works out of a regional or head office, supporting property managers and on-site staff with operational matters.
The nominees are: Reena Holt (Deveraux), Joshua Penn (Avana), and Julianne McDowell (Avenue).
This award recognizes a company which has developed a new rental housing project that demonstrates excellence, creativity, and quality. The award will be judged on the overall design and quality of the project and consideration will be given to creativity, curb appeal, amenities, environmental quality, use of space, and functionality.
The project or project phase must have been completed between June 2023 and June 2024.
The nominees are: Ehrenburg Properties and WestCliff Properties.
This award recognizes a small rental housing provider who has less than 50 units and has demonstrated leadership, initiative, and commitment to their tenants and community.
Nominations should endeavour to communicate how the rental housing provider has strengthened or contributed to the community, reduced environmental impacts, pivoted in the face of change, supported residents, or other accomplishments that demonstrate competence, leadership, and initiative.
Accomplishments, initiatives, and/or innovations must have taken place between June 2023 and June 2024.

This award recognizes an individual or company who goes above and beyond in their duties to support excellent customer service and tenant relations. The individual or company is described as dedicated, conscientious, and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure every tenant has a positive experience when renting.
The nominees are: Georgina Molodwan (Mainstreet), Marcela Rjas (Weidner), Gord Sinclair (Deveraux), Ermal Gjoni (Avana), Hazelview Properties Team, Real Canadian Property Management Team, and Soumi Bhomik (Avenue).
The Service Member of the Year award recognizes a rental housing supplier who or which has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the rental housing industry through an action, exceptional practice or a dedicated initiative. Eligible applications include an effort that has improved the standard of practice in the industry, strengthened or contributed to the community, reduced environmental impacts, or other exceptional achievement. This award is open to many types of achievements.
The nominees are: Yardi, Air Excellence, and SingleKey.
This award recognizes an employee nominated by their employer as someone who is professional, engaged, and demonstrates excellence in everything they do. This employee is someone who regularly exceeds expectations and contributes to the success of his/her building, team, and company.
The nominee must be currently employed in a role related to rental operations, maintenance, cleaning, leasing, sales, etc., and is on-site at the building/development.
The nominees are: Ziyu Huang (Mainstreet), Conrado Poblete (Deveraux), Carrie Stade (Avana), Kyle Campbell (Avenue), Greg Miko (Jubilee), Darcie Stanton (Jubilee), Lorena Ortiz (Hazelview), and Marlo Johnson (Hazelview).
This award recognizes an outstanding rental housing provider who or which has demonstrated leadership, initiative, and dedication to the success of their operations, communities, and the industry as a whole.
Nominations are open to companies and individual landlords or property managers of all sizes. Nominations should endeavour to communicate how the rental housing provider has strengthened or contributed to the community, reduced environmental impacts, pivoted in the face of change, supported residents, or other accomplishments that demonstrate competence, leadership, and initiative.
Accomplishments, initiatives, and/or innovations must have taken place between June 2023 and June 2024.
The nominees are: Deveraux, Avenue, Hazelview, and Real Canadian Property Management.
This award recognizes a rental housing provider who has completed a renovation in-part of in full, that demonstrates excellence, quality, and improved functionality. The award will be judged on creativity, quality, value for money, and the improvements made.
The renovation project must have been completed between June 2023 and June 2024.

This award recognizes a rental housing provider as a company or individual who has gone above and beyond in support of their community. Through volunteering, monetary donations, campaigns, or other activities, the rental housing provider has demonstrated leadership and dedication to the community that they operate in.

This award recognizes a rental housing provider as a company or individual who has gone above and beyond in creating buildings that keep their tenants and communities safe by preventing crime, increasing security, and providing education.
Through building upgrades, training for tenants and/or employees, or other initiatives, the rental housing provider has demonstrated leadership and dedication to crime prevention and tenant safety.
The nominees are: Colliers, Weidner, Mainstreet, Dan Kierstad (Bethany Manor), and Tammy Vaadeland (Saskatoon Real Estate Services).
This award recognizes an executive or senior manager who has dedicated time and effort to their company and residents. This individual has demonstrated leadership ability and deserves to be recognized for their long-standing relationships, experience, and contributions to the rental housing industry in Saskatchewan.
The nominee must be currently employed in a leadership or management role in the rental housing industry.
The nominees are: Carla Browne (RCPM), and Jamie McDougald (Deveraux)
