Our Advocacy Agenda

There are multiple industry issues that are on the Association’s agenda at any given time. Through our relationships with government officials, elected representatives, and community partners, we are able to make progress on issues that impact a large number of our members.

The ORT launched its online portal. The SKLA is currently working to address the wait times for account setup and the denial of email and paper applications.



In January we provided commentary on theInternational Property Tax Institute’s research on the property tax system in Saskatchewan. As a member of the City of Saskatoon’sBoard of Revision, our CEO CameronChoquette brings a unique and informed perspective on assessment.



The Association has met with many organizations and researchers with CMHC, SSHRC, and attended a Housing Summit hosted by Mayor Masters of Regina.


The Association is in ongoing talks with the provincial government and other stakeholders about the obgoing issues with the SIS Program.

CEO Cameron Choquette was at the legislature for the Provincial Budget. He also met with stakeholders, including Minister of Social Services, Lori Carr.
