As municipal and provincial elections approach on November 9th and October 26th, respectively, landlords and property managers should be observing how candidates are talking about housing, economic recovery, and future tax increases. These three issues are top of mind for the Association as we advocate on behalf our members.

Even if you aren’t very interested in politics, I encourage all landlords and property managers to register to vote and ensure you make it out to a polling station. This is an easy way to make your voice heard on issues that matter to you and our industry.

– Ramona Maraj, Advocacy Committee Chair

Another opportunity to have your voice heard is to consider running for public office as a municipal councillor, provincial MLA, or a school board trustee. It’s a serious job and not for the faint of heart but it will give you an opportunity to make a difference in your community.

More information can be found in the September 25th issue of the Landlord Ledger. Keep watching SKLA’s Facebook page for more information and events relating to the elections.
